Pump It

I always enjoy coaching at other gyms and this week I have to say that I was impressed when I did some work at Pumped Gym in Stevenage, Herts.  The gym is well equipped, is superb for whatever level you are training at and as you can see from the photo, the the t - shirts are pretty good too! The place was designed by gym guru Mike Williams, who I spent some time with after work in the cafe area enjoying some chicken and rice (for a change!) Mike has so many great bodybuilding stories from all the years back to the sixties and he is also extremely knowledgeable about the sport so all in all I had a brilliant day. On a different subject, I was not surprised to hear about the "prism programme", whereby people lives are monitored through such things as social media servers, I wonder if the authorities are as fed up as I am with wannabes posting pictures of their food and telling everyone how they are going to "smash it" in the gym.  It's called bodybuilding not body smashing!

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Another busy week so no change there!  The promo video for the TV series has been made and will hopefully be aired in a couple of months time.  We are also planning to make a DVD of this years show prep and have it available for purchase by Christmas.  Show prep is hard enough and having it all filmed will make it even tougher but I'm looking forward to the challenge.  My initial plans are to compete on September 22nd to try to retain the UKBFF Midlands title that I won last year  as a warm up for the British finals on October 19th, after that I will see how I feel before making any further competition decisions.  Talking of challenges, I can't wait for the British Lions tour of Australia.  The warm up match against the Barbarians was encouraging, the Lions are strong in every department and if they can run each game through Mike Phillips and Johnny Sexton then I predict a series victory.

I Can Help

Another busy week means that I only seem to get free time at the weekends lately but its for all the right reasons.  Due to increased media exposure the online advice that I give is now at a record high, so I'm sorry if it takes me a while to reply to you all.  I have been asked to do a TV series whereby I take on people who have had a rough deal from life and try to turn their lives around using just correct dieting, proper exercise and positive mental attitude.  If we can get enough sponsorship to make the series it will be the biggest task I have ever undertaken and ultimately the most rewarding.  We are filming a promo video tomorrow so watch this space!

Body Power 2013

This weekend sees the return of the Body Power expo at the NEC.   This is a brilliant expo and I am very disappointed that I can't be there this year.  As I won the UKBFF show at this event for the first 2 years running it has a special place in my heart . The problem is that I had my final eye surgery on Wednesday and I can't drive long distances yet, also I have to protect my eyes which means that I would have to walk around the expo in sunglasses which is not an image that I want to project!  I'm also having to miss training for a few weeks while they recover so I'm going stir crazy sitting about all day! On the plus side I now have HD vision for the rest of my life and it means that I have been able to spend some extra time with Lilybelle.  Here is Granddad's Princess in my new jacuzzi, she loves bubbles!

Behind Blue Eyes

Firstly a massive well done to my mate Martin Stevenson who placed 5th in the NABBA Pro-Am at Brierly Hill yesterday.  Martin will now go on to the NABBA Britain in 2 weeks where he has a great chance of winning the Class 1.  Thanks for all the kind comments about the new workout video, it was deliberately done while I'm off season and drug free, there are enough videos of me in show condition so this was a nice departure. There is a new "music" edit now online so please click this link and share it www.youtube.com/watch?v=D33DaxHuJDw  I couldn't get to Martin's show as last week I had eye surgery to one eye, I had the lens replaced and it's still too blurry to drive long distances.  The other one is being done at the end of this week and after that I will have HD vision and never need my reading glasses again!  Finally, last week I spent some time with one of my favourite people in the whole world, 5 year old Bailey who had her Birthday last week.  I've known Bailey since she was a baby and she just gets more beautiful every time I see her as you can see from the picture.

Let Me Entertain You

As the good weather has gone away again and we are all back indoors you might want to look at these links.  Firstly, the new workout video is now on YouTube www.youtube.com/watch?v=VauUKYmNhLk  Also the new special feature has finally been uploaded http://www.kevanwilson.com/YoungstersOnSteroids.pdf Finally please have a look at this video and you will be amazed http://vimeo.com/64287458  I knew Donna de Lisser when we both trained at Body Limit gym in St. Albans years ago but we still occasionally keep in touch.  She always trained well and had great potential despite being only a few years younger than me.  She then moved to Ian Dowes gym in Archway, Ian was a great help to me when I first started all those years ago so I was not surprised when he got Donna in such incredible shape that she recently won the Miami Pro fitness model contest despite being the oldest competitor on stage!

People's Choice

It's been a busy week.  As well as the normal training and coaching on Wednesday the TV production company filmed my next workout video. I'm hoping to have it on YouTube within the next week or so, please subscribe to my YouTube channel and you can be among the first to see it.  On Friday I did a coaching session with the owner of my clothing sponsors www.repraw.com and afterwards we did a photoshoot which will be on their website soon.  Finally, a little bit of politics.  David Cameron and his Etonian buddies should realise that on Thursday it wasn't about a protest vote, it was about what an increasing number of people are demanding, a Britain run by Westminster and not by the EU!
